NIC Chile installs a new name server for .CL in Peru

NIC Chile informs that a new dedicated server providing DNS service for .CL domain names is now in operation. Located in Lima, it belongs to an anycast cloud, under direct control of NIC Chile. The server is hosted by "Red Científica Peruana", the .PE operator.

In this way, the network of servers for .CL which NIC Chile manages directly, is now present in 3 regions outside of Chile: Europe (Czech Republic and Denmark); North America (USA) and South America (Brazil and Peru); in addition to 7 nodes distributed over 3 cities in Chile, that cover almost all the domestic internet service providers (ISP).

Additional DNS service for .CL are provided by agreements and contracts with prestigious external organizations, such as ISC, NETNOD (Autonomica) and Packet Clearing House.

With the operation of this new nameserver, NIC Chile continues to improve the robustness and response time of the network of servers that resolve domain names for .CL worldwide.
